Happy Anti Valentine's Day
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I don't celebrate Valentine's Day
And neither should you!
Heyyyyy guys, now that I've wooed you by reciting romantic poetry and totally grabbed your attention with that cutesy image, we need to sit down and have a little talk. Have I mentioned how cute you look today?
I know Valentine's Day is only one week away and everything, but I cant put this off any longer.
I’m breaking up with blogger Valentine’s Day, and I swear, its not you, its me!
No, I am not an anti-romantic. I happen to LOVE, love, just not forced love on the day everyone else in this world is told to express love. Where's the fun in that? While my dogs get my hubby a cute card every year to mark the occasion I stray away from participating in the "holiday".
Because of my strong feelings on the topic of Valentine's Day I’m not comfortable with conforming with the fashion blogger standard that demands I post about shopping ideas for your sweetheart (barf) cutesy heart shaped desserts to bake for your man (vomit) or frilly outfits consisting of skirts and an entirely red and pink color pallet (dry heave).
So ya, today I’m not gonna sit here and tell you what to wear for that hot Valentine’s dinner date you have planned. The fact of the matter is that whether it’s Valentine’s Day, Groundhog Day, or Easter Sunday, your hot date attire should never match the current holiday decor.
This better not come as a surprise to you but, when venturing out on a date with a guy/or girl you are interested in, you are much better off wearing something that expresses who you truly are. Especially on a first date! Just be yourself, because putting up an act right from the get-go will only strain a new relationship. Furthermore, most men don’t care for anything pink or heart patterned. So dressing like a pre-teen isn’t exactly going to score you any points.
So now you’re probably asking why you’re sitting there taking dating advice from someone who just broke up with Valentine’s Day? Well I promise there is a silver lining.
Just so you don't walk away feeling like I'm one of those jerks who break up with you 7 days before Valentine's Day so that I can avoid buying you a gift I present to you the following....
Things that I love and think are awesome so as long as you wear them AFTER February 14th. Yup that's right.
Charlotte Olympia BE MINE clutch
Silk and Cashmere Blend Sweater
Charlotte Olympia candy anklet pump
Moschino heart print shirt
Love Headband
So, what do you think? Do you like the idea of embracing these fun cutesy items all year long and not just on February 14th?
Are you pro or anti Valentine's Day?
