Have A Fashionable Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day with products that keep us and our planet beautiful!

Earth Day was first celebrated in the 1970's when the issues affecting our climate and our planet were only beginning to be discussed. Today climate change, species endangerment, and a shortage of natural resources has become a reality and something that could affect our future generations. Since becoming a mom that whole "future generation" warning really hits home. I want to set a good example for my daughter and teach her at the very least to recycle and reduce the amount of waste she produces. Also I'd love to introduce her to products that support a sustainable earth.

Luckily there are many of brands today that promote sustainability. Today since it is Earth Day I wanted to share 3 of my favorites. LUSH Cosmetics, LACC Beauty and ALEX AND ANI.

1.
LUSH Cosmetics has been a favorite of mine for the past ten years. They are all about fresh, handmade beauty products that are 100% vegetarian or vegan, they fight against animal testing, embrace a beautiful philanthropic spirit and BONUS, do their products smell great or WHAT? Awhile ago I featured LUSH in a special post which you can check out HERE

2.
ALEX AND ANI has only been available in Canada for the past year yet you can spot their charming jewelry on everyone from teens to ME and even my own mother. ALEX AND ANI promotes "Positive Energy" as their core company belief. They also lookout for the well being of the environment by using only sustainable materials that are manufactured in America through an eco-conscious process. P.S check out their latest collection in my Spring Shopping post!

3.
La couleur couture or "LACC" is a Canadian brand that is widely available at Shoppers Drug mart and is also very affordable for a quality polish.  Most importantly LACC is on this list today because the polishes are toxic-free, cruelty-free and vegan-friendly, with a UV inhibitor.  These polishes contain no chemicals or toxins, no gluten or formaldehyde. They are the only polish I dare to use when I'm anywhere remotely close to my baby girl.

As I type this it is snowing in pasts of Toronto, on April 22!! And I wonder how its possible that some people still don't believe global warming and the negative affects of our bad habits have become a reality.  If there's one thing you can do to help keep this planet happy and healthy then start with your beauty routine and pay attention to the brands you are purchasing.

Do you know of any other great brands that support a sustainable planet? Please share in the comments below.

Have a happy Earth Day!
