A little while ago I mentioned that Christian Louboutin has introduced a collection of nail laquers, inspired by the signature red sole of his iconic shoes. In case you haven't noticed, Louboutin is not the only designer adding a beauty product line to his resume. Lately the race to release a couture inspired beauty line to the mass-market has gotten quite competitive. Everyone seems to be jumping on the band wagon in an attempt to infuse the mass-market with couture beauty products. And consumers are definitely not complaining as this is the cheapest and prettiest way to infuse your look with high end designer influence.
Most of my favorite designers now have a wide range of beauty products that have introduced a way for EVERYONE to own something "designer". As I explained last week Marc Jacobs has a line of his own that I call one of my favorites overall, especially the lipstick.
There is a lot to love with these designer beauty collections. They are carefully designed with the best and safest ingredients around. The packaging is also often revolutionary (like Marc's magnetic lip stick lid) and will make your regualar drug store brand cosmetic look sadly out of place in your make-up bag. These designer beauty collections are downright eye catching products that have tempted me to try a few, because I cant say "No" to designer ANYTHING under $100. Can you?
