Beauty And The Mail Box

Last week we were discussing beauty box subscriptions, to order or not to order? More importantly which one to order? Half of the guess work has already been done for me since I live in Canada and a bunch of them don't ship out here, far, far out here in the barren land of Toronto. Anywho, the idea is still on the table but I haven't quite decided on which one to go for. In case you missed the post you can check it out below, along with 19 other fantastic posts thanks to IFB.

My personal favorite of these trends happen to be: open toe shoes, moto leather jackets, ripped denim, anything linen, and all white looks. In case you missed my spring trend round ups and discussions, feel free to peruse them here for the first time or again and again --> for shoe trends here --> for jacket trends for a discussion on popular 90's trends....and finally, check out the list below for my Flamingo obsessed trend round up. Also while you're at it check out the 19 other great bloggers who made the cut this week.

Getting To Know Our Colorful World

sephora eye shadow

There's a world of color out there that we don't know about (well, that I didn't know about).

But did you know Sephora and Pantone have paired up to bring us a colorful pallette of cosmetics inspired by the Pantone Universe?

Ahhh summer, its been pretty warm for awhile now and if you're looking for a way to cool off, of course I would suggest visiting a nice cool, heavily air conditioned mall. If you spent your weekend hitting up some of the super summer sales that are still lingering, or trying on some of the amazing pre-fall that is already out there I hope you are still happy with your purchases this morning. Last week I discussed  buyers remorse and some of you had a comment or experience of your own from past impulse purchases or over indulgences.

Oh, and looky, looky what we have here, the post just so happened to be chosen by IFB for the weekly round up! so for your reading pleasure there are 19 links below to posts that can help you kill time indoors or pool side this week as the temperatures continue to rise. Check them out for yourself, and enjoy.

"If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all"Last week I briefly discussed fashion bloggers who don't seem to think twice before they speak. Cursing and insulting readers and other fashion bloggers online is not the best way to maintain a faithful following of readers, and its the best way to loose credibility online.

Not one to dwell on the negative I tried to counterbalance with some positive quotes about fashion.  If you didn't get a chance to read the post then check it out below, along with the others chosen by IFB as part of their weekly round up.

    Enjoy, and happy Friday:)

Hey there, I have something very serious to share with everyone...
Totally kidding, I don't have anything serious to say at all, in fact I wanted to share this picture of me and bestie doin what we do best; actin a fool.

Apparently IFB didn't judge when I revealed my most embarrassing photo's, and they chose my post as part of their weekly round up. Feel free to check it out below and please also take some time to peruse the other awesome blogs in their list.

    Be Yourself

With summer fast approaching, we're all taking it easy when it comes to putting on a show. Summer is always more laid back, down to earth and relaxed... a perfect time to reflect on the madness that is everyday life. This week's roundup did a lot of reflecting, from the poses we put on for our blogs, the hamster wheel of personal style on the web, going modest when everyone else is baring it all, letting our hair be it's natural beautiful self, and even embracing your "eye bags." If you're wondering if fashion blogging is shallow or conscious or if Galliano deserves forgiveness this is the roundup for you this week! If you're just looking for some excellent DIYs for the weekend, we've even got a great floral crown, hand stamped jewellery, and shirt dyeing project for you!

I never knew my struggle with styling my own hair and throwing make up on like a drunk monkey was a common stress point until I blogged about it last week. Thanks for all the comments and thank you IFB for choosing my post as part of your weekly round up.

Just so you know, I have continued with the hair, make up and manicure DIY and I have an update coming for you all very soon...stay tuned.

    Links a la Mode: March 21, 2013

Thank you IFB for once again including my post in your weekly round up. My chambray 3 ways post was inspired by my dreams of sunshine and patio's, pedicures and open toe sandals. Unfortunately the weather here in Toronto hasn't been in agreement with the fact that Spring began several days ago now. But you can still check out my post and use it as inspiration for that day in the near future when hopefully the snow stops falling and you can bare your ankles without getting frost bite. And of course please check out the other 19 chosen posts and enjoy :)

    Spring Fever

Yesterday Spring officially sprung. While some of us are spring cleaning, some of us are coveting the trends and outfits we can wear with warmer weather. I know I'm into it after a cold winter! Anyway, we've got a really great mix this week. From learning what exactly "Haute Couture" means, to various explorations of all the Spring Trends for this year, some really great remixes how to take it all in with your camera phone. I'd say it's a great way to kick off the season, and hopefully you're as excited as I am! Now... let's get started!

    Happy Friday!

    Absolutely Perfect

It's been a very long time since I've done the Links à la Mode Roundup, and I have to say, it was a treat to see so many thought provoking posts. From perfectionism, Pinterest,  diversity in fashion, frowning in fashion, and how technology (and bloggers) affect our shopping. We also had a heartwarming story from a blogger who found a vintage item like her mother had years ago (imagine that!), and some great DIYs. There's a lot of great stuff in here, so take a look and see you next week!

The Circus of Fashion Goes On…

    Edited By Taylor Davies
A lot has been made of Suzy Menkes’ “Circus of Fashion” article, published recently in T magazine. We responded to it here on IFB, as did The Man Repeller and as you’ll see below – members of our community. To round out this week’s selection, a carnival of content if you will, from NYFW to uber-trendy shoes. Enjoy!

    Links à la Mode: Feb 14th 2013

Two weeks ago I discovered the fantasmic (yes that is a word I made up) IFB site  while on my lunch break, I immediately registered and began networking with other community members and scouring the many, many posts for tips on how to become a better fashion blogger. I also submitted my Dirty Thirty post to their weekly Links a la Mode forum, and as luck would have it my post was one of the 20 chosen for Feb 14th. I guess I did get a Valentine's Day gift after-all ;) I encourage everyone to check out the 20 links below and enjoy a good read, supporting other's with your same dream is the most humble thing you can do, and it doesn't hurt that you can enjoy a good laugh, learn something you already didn't know, and pick up some killer fashion tips along the way
    Happy reading

    Love, Prints & Inspired Style

    Edited By: Taylor Davies
This week’s IFB Links a la Mode round up is a mish-mash of things that have me feeling very inspired on this Valentine’s Day. Some posts are about love and love stories (talk about fashionable couples!) some are all about amazing prints, and some are drawing inspration from cult classic films (Clueless!) and chic new exhibits in New York. Enjoy the round up and have a love-filled day!
